The Acquisition, Preservation, and Curriculum Analysis (APCA) Section of the University of Cape Coast Library ensures that relevant materials containing information are procured. In the process, the Section takes into consideration the programmes offered by the University. The Section also adopts measures that will ensure the longevity of all information sources acquired. The University of Cape Coast Library is a hybrid library. Therefore, it acquires both print and electronic information materials.
Mandate
The mandate of the acquisition, preservation and curriculum analysis section shall:
- ensure that all books and electronic information sources acquired are those that will provide the information needs of library users.
- ensure that procurement rules are adhered to.
- acquire, conserve and preserve all information materials in a manner that will ensure their longevity.
- acquire books and electronic information materials for all programmes offered by the University.
- collaborate with the Clients’ Services Section in the stock revision activities.
- ensure consistent and balanced growth of the collection of the library.
- facilitate decision-making as far as management of the library collections are concerned

The section is responsible for books/material acquisitions and stock management as well as the preservation of Library books/material resources and curriculum support.
